Al served at Peterborough, Apsley, and Thessalon Detachments, Sault Ste. Marie DHQ, North East Region, East Region and North West Region before retiring as Chief Superintendent from North East Region on December 31, 2006. Al is survived by his wife Sharon, his children Marylin and retired OPP Constable, Kristine Dawson, Badge #8461 (West Parry Sound), his brother retired OPP Senior Constable, Ray Dawson Badge #4657 (Bracebridge) and predeceased by his father retired OPP Constable, Arthur Dawson Badge #1559.
